I was delighted when I heard this song in the teaser for Netflix’s upcoming Korean drama ‘Mask Girl.’ It’s Kim Wan-Sun’s ‘The Dance Within the Rhythm (1987).

This is a 1987 song by the iconic K-pop diva Kim Wan-Sun, who made a sensational debut in Korea with her daring style and concept, garnering significant attention. The lyrics speak of being captivated by someone dancing to the rhythm, and it truly reflects the hearts of those watching Kim Wan-Sun’s performances.

Even in 2023, Kim Wan-Sun remains actively engaged in the industry. What is remarkable is that she continues her career as a dance singer, in a somewhat conservative society like Korea where not getting married is considered unusual.
